- Registration Fee: $475.00 per delegate (Note: Transportation to and from Girls State is not included in the fee.)
Important Registration Dates
- February 1, 2025 – May 1, 2025: Reservations open for American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Units. (Reservation forms postmarked before February 1st will not be accepted.)
- February 15, 2025 – May 1, 2025: Reservations open for schools to reserve spots directly.
The mission of American Legion Auxiliary Texas Bluebonnet Girls State is to educate young women about the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship. Through hands-on experience and a series of dynamic educational activities, delegates will learn how to become well-informed, active, and engaged citizens who are equipped to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of American democracy.
The Program
Each day of Girls State is carefully planned to ensure that every delegate has a role in the function of the program, learning firsthand that the government is shaped by its citizens. Participants will engage in activities designed to teach them about the duties, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship.
A highlight of the program includes a visit to the Texas State Capitol, where delegates will have the opportunity to observe legislative sessions and meet with state officials. The program is strictly nonpartisan: any “National” or “Federal” political parties formed during the session are purely fictional, intended solely to allow students to build their own city, county, and state governments based on the Texas Constitution and laws.
Please note the registration process for Girls State is very different from Boys State. Read the attached instruction form for specific details regarding the registration process. The Reservation Form is for the sponsor contact information and the name of the school only. This is NOT the form for the girls information.
Upon receipt of the reservation form and the payment, the Registrar will send a Delegate Information Form for each spot reserved. Please DO NOT notify students until you receive this form, as it confirms that space is available. We WILL NOT process registration forms WITHOUT full payment.
We will be accepting online payments again. Please make sure you read the instructions online FULLY before proceeding to the online payment as some things have changed.
