Community Service

In the spirit of Service Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support our commitment to Community Service. Being involved in this program helps to not only strengthen the communities we live in but also embodies the values and purpose of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Community Service truly shows who we are and what we do for those who might not otherwise know us.  Whether it is organizing a blood drive, mentoring in schools, cleaning up a park or preparing care packages for local troops, our service shows our compassion and support of all citizens.

Purpose

The purpose of the Community Service program is to promote the American Legion Auxiliary’s commitment to making our communities better places to live in by supporting local service projects. Making our communities better places in which to live is something Auxiliary members strive for each day across this country. A major outreach program of the Auxiliary since 1926, Community Service also demonstrates our longstanding commitment to supporting the work of American Legion posts and other organizations in providing assistance with blood drives, first aid and CPR training, child safety programs, support for women in shelters, and disaster and emergency preparedness programs.
