CANCER RESEARCH

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Texas has a one-of-a-kind Cancer Research Program. We sponsor scholarships (grants) to young men and women who attend the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Science and M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. This is a Texas only program and we have been searching for a cure since 1950.

CAVALCADE OF MEMORIES

To preserve, display and share the history of the American Legion Auxiliary so we can continue to honor those members who have made significant sacrifices for our organization and build on their experiences. Cavalcade of Memories can also act as a resource for members, volunteers and the general public.

CHILDREN & YOUTH

To protect, care for and support children and youth, particularly those of veterans families and military families.

EDUCATION

To promote quality education for children and adults through classroom activities, literacy programs, scholarship promotion and support of education beyond high school, especially for military children.

FRIENDS OF GIRLS STATE

To provide an outstanding, unique, and coveted educational opportunity to the young women of Texas that instills the basic ideals and principles of government through the citizenship and leadership training programs of Texas Bluebonnet Girls State.

JUNIOR ACTIVITIES

To interest eligible young women (under the age of 18) in adult membership through positive experiences of mission-based volunteer opportunities that instill the ideals of the organization

PAST PRESIDENT'S PARLAY

To continue in the active service of the Auxiliary women who have served as Unit, District, Division or Department Presidents to ensure a strong leadership future for the organization.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

To work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to create, implement and support a proactive communications network that advances the objectives and programs of the American Legion Auxiliary and positively projects our image and programs to the general public.

VETERANS AFFAIRS & REHABILITATION

Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation is the oldest of the American Legion Auxiliary programs. It is a unique and rewarding program, whose purpose is to initiate, sponsor and participate in programs and services that assist and enhance the lives of veterans and their families, ensuring restoration and/or transition to normally functioning lives, including physical, mental, social and vocational needs.
